NSJS Tell Tale Report for Apr., 2026

Just a few more weeks and our Boater-to-Boater sale will be all stocked up and ready to go. We welcome your donations to help us round out our inventory! Drop off your goodies at the club or give us a call. We’ll be available and setting up in the club April 24^th for a pre-sale before and after the Skipper’s meeting. Then the whole weekend of April 25 & 26^th we’ll be flagging down traffic and open to the public.

Junior Sailing will be at the Macomb Family YMCA in the morning for Healthy Kids Day on April 18^th, from 1p – 3p. This is a great event with freebies for kids and a wealth of information for adults.

We’re hiring! Keep your eyes and ears open for instructor candidates and send them our way if they might be interested. We reimburse first year instructor’s US Sailing Level 1 certification fees. Half in the first year with Jr. Sailing and the other half when they return in the following year.

Speaking of US Sailing certification, NSJS is hosting a Level 2 Instructor certification course the weekend of May 30 & 31. To kick off a weekend full of learning opportunities, we will start Friday May 29^th with First Aid & CPR training leading to certification by the American Heart Association. Later that day at 4pm, we have a presentation by the Hamtramck Drug Free Community Coalition of the proper use of Narcan. And let’s not forget our awesome youth sailing lessons start June 15^th. Spread the word! Our curriculum is being updated to include more STEM topics using sailing and our on-the-water environment to teach these concepts.
