Just a few more weeks and our Boater-to-Boater sale will be all stocked up and ready to go. We welcome your donations to help us round out our inventory! One more Euchre Tournament, Friday March 13th. You know the plug (or check last month’s TellTale). The Macomb County Board of Commissioners holds Friday Casual Days for charity where County workers can pay $1 to dress down on a Friday. The funds raised are then donated to charity. There is still more Euchre to be had. Your $10 entry fee buys you 8 rounds and a shot at a cash prize. Cash prizes are awarded to 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd highest scores. The bar and 50/50 raffle open at 7pm. Tournament games begin at 7:30pm. Raffle drawing is 9:30pm or at tournament conclusion, whichever comes first. Happy New Year! I’m looking out the window at the lovely winter wonderland that was dumped on us yesterday and it’s making me think… Junior Sailing should start an ice boat program too! We closed out 2025 with 5,440 cans. We have a new goal for the North Star quaffing contingent… Let’s double that for 2

We want to thank the club and membership for the NSSC donation this year. You may wonder why, with such a generous donation, we keep begging for more. We’re building our programs and rebuilding our interclub racing and for this we need instructors and coaches. They don’t come cheap and we have some hefty competition for this talent down the road: GPYC, Crescent, Bayview, DYC… to be specific. Things are winding down on the water but we have a busy month ahead over here on dry land. Well, mostly dry as we dodge a few raindrops. We have our silent auction coming up at the end of Fall Series during the Oktoberfest, 10/18. Bidding will be open from 9am to 8pm when we will announce our winners. We have gathered some donations of beautiful hand crated items from some generous NSSC members. We also have a Jimmy John’s ball game package and an assortment of gift baskets w

Our  summer youth lessons have concluded and our students and instructors are headed back to school. We have accomplished soooo much!  The “Intro to Racing” took us to the Junior Regattas at CSYC and DYC which included a distance race around Belle Isle. This was no small task for our young sailors, fighting a 2 knot current to move a 420 upstream in relatively light air. They did it! Many thanks to Jill & Roger Hilborn for their help with trailering and the tire replacements
