NSJS Tell Tale Report for Dec., 2025

We want to thank the club and membership for the NSSC donation this year. You may wonder why, with such a generous donation, we keep begging for more. We’re building our programs and rebuilding our interclub racing and for this we need instructors and coaches. They don’t come cheap and we have some hefty competition for this talent down the road: GPYC, Crescent, Bayview, DYC… to be specific. Our program fees compare favorably to the other clubs in the area and don’t cover all our costs. Giving Tuesday is December 2nd this year but feel free to open your hearts and wallets any time of year and especially now while doing your year-end tax planning.

We are very grateful to those of you that donated items to our Silent Auction. If you missed the Silent Auction you can visit our new website’s blog and see the prizes you missed out on and all the generous donors posted there.

Apologies, we’re still working out some kinks and shortcomings in the new website, like slow loading images, and adding content and inventory as quick as we can. This site is the e-commerce face of Junior Sailing’s programs, events, and fundraising efforts. Here you can sign up for lessons, check out our Boater to Boater inventory, visit the jobs board, and more! The url is northstarjrsailing.com. Pretty easy to remember and if you type in northstarjrsailing.org, you’ll still reach our original website where you can learn more about our history, vision, mission, board of directors, and other fun facts about our non-profit organization and resources.

NSJS is still collecting cans for recycling, but we have moved the big blue bins into storage for the winter. Please use the brown garbage pail in the club storeroom. We’re on it and the blue bins will be back by workday April 2026.

Join us for Euchre starting January 2, 2026, and every other Friday through March 13th. The bar and 50/50 raffle open at 7pm. Tournament games begin at 7:30pm. Raffle drawing is 9:30pm or at tournament conclusion, whichever comes first. Cash prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd highest scores. You can join in on our 50/50 raffles on Dart nights too.

Remember to register NSJS as your charity of choice in the Kroger Community Rewards Program with the code JT277. There is no cost to enroll and NSJS will earn funding whenever you shop and swipe your Kroger card at checkout. We had 8 households enrolled through the quarter ending October 31, 2025, that earned us $9.28 of funding. Every little bit helps!

Happy Holidays to all!

Next meeting: Monday, December 15th at 7pm at NSSC or tune in virtually via Google Meet: https://meet.google.com/yba-ykuy-hpg?hs=122&authuser=0  for our next NSJS meeting.
